What Turney Town keeps

Visitors

You can read the whole directory without an account. Public pages set no cookies. Nothing you search for is stored.

Business owner accounts

An owner account keeps your email address, your name if you give one, and your password as a one-way hash (we cannot read it). A claim keeps what you type on the claim form (your role, name, the link where you posted your code and your note). This site sends no email: your address is used only to sign in and so that WeldonPC can reply if you write to us first. Signing in sets one session cookie, which ends when you sign out or after two weeks.

What you publish on your business's page (description, hours, phone, links, specials and photos) is public. The owner of a page is not named on it. If an owner is removed from a page, what they published is taken off the page and kept in an archive on the server, so the decision can be checked later.

Photos

Every photo you upload is checked and saved again as a new JPEG at most 1600 pixels wide. That new copy has no EXIF data, so camera details and any GPS location in your original are not kept. A person at WeldonPC looks at each photo before it is shown. Photos that are removed or not approved are moved out of public view and kept on the server until they are cleared by hand.

Limits on use

To stop abuse, the site counts sign-in attempts, new accounts, claims, edits and uploads per network address per hour or day, and failed sign-ins per email address. Addresses and email addresses are kept for this only as salted one-way hashes, and the counts are deleted after 3 days.

Logs, cookies, outside services

The hosting server keeps standard access logs for security, for as long as the host's server-wide setting keeps them. Forms set one cookie that protects them against forged submissions. There are no tracking cookies and no analytics services (the banner ad counts one page view per page as a daily total). Fonts and scripts are all served from this site; the banner described under Advertising comes from adengine.us, which is WeldonPC’s own. Links to maps, chains' store pages and businesses' own sites open those sites, which have their own privacy policies. AI is not used.

Advertising

Every page of this site shows one banner ad from AdEngine (adengine.us), the small ad network run by WeldonPC, the company behind Turney Town. For now the ads are for WeldonPC’s own services; the businesses listed here do not pay for or choose them, and an ad is not a recommendation by the plaza or its businesses.

To show an ad, this site's own copy of the AdEngine script asks adengine.us for one banner, your browser loads the banner image from adengine.us, and it reports once that the page was viewed and once that the banner was shown. No script from adengine.us runs on this site's pages. Like any website, adengine.us receives your address (IP address), your browser type and the address of this site with those requests: the site’s address only, never the page’s.

  • No cookies, no profile. AdEngine sets no cookies, gives you no ID and does not track you from site to site.
  • How your address is used. adengine.us looks up the approximate city for your address in a location database kept on its own server (nothing is sent to anyone else), so that ads meant for one area are shown only there. It also uses the address to count each ad view or click only once and to leave out robots and WeldonPC’s own office traffic. The address is not stored with the counts; the temporary entries made from it expire within six hours and are cleared from the server within two days.
  • What is kept. Daily totals only: page views for this site, and views and clicks for each ad. The adengine.us web server also keeps a standard access log (address, time, address requested, referring site, browser) for security; it is deleted on a rolling schedule.
  • Clicking an ad passes through adengine.us, which counts the click, and then opens the advertiser’s site, which has its own privacy policy.
  • Nothing about you is sold or shared.

Deleting your account

Ask at weldonpc.com/contact. We reply to the address on the account with a one-time phrase; send it back from that mailbox to finish. We then remove your account and claims; what you published on a business's page stays with that page unless you ask us to take it down too.

The retired bracket tool

Until October 2026 this address ran a bracket maker. Its brackets can no longer be opened. They held what their hosts typed (names and results), never accounts or email addresses.
